One misbehaving app is usually the app's fault. Every app crashing at once almost always points to something systemic on the phone.
Restart the phone
This clears out memory and background processes that build up over time and is the single most effective first step for widespread app crashes.
Update your apps and operating system
Apps are built against a specific version of your phone's operating system. Falling behind on updates on either side is a common cause of sudden, widespread crashing.
Check available storage
Many apps need free storage space to write temporary files while running, and will crash or refuse to open when storage is nearly full.
Clear the app's cache or data
If it's one specific app causing trouble, clearing its cache (or reinstalling it) resolves corrupted local data without losing your account or cloud-synced information.
Check your battery health
Some phones will kill background apps more aggressively, or throttle performance in ways that cause instability, when the battery is degraded and struggling to supply power under load.
If every app is unstable even after a restart, an update, and freeing up storage, the underlying cause is often either a full storage drive or an aging battery rather than the apps themselves.
