"No service" is alarming, but it's rarely permanent. A short list of checks covers the vast majority of causes.
Toggle airplane mode
Turning airplane mode on, waiting ten seconds, then turning it off forces your phone to reconnect to the cellular network from scratch — the single most effective quick fix.
Check for a carrier outage
Before assuming it's your phone, check your carrier's status page or social media for reports of an outage in your area. This is more common than people expect.
Reseat the SIM card
Power off the phone, remove the SIM tray, and make sure the SIM card is seated correctly and free of visible damage or dirt on the contacts, then reinsert it.
Update your carrier settings and software
Carriers periodically push settings updates that your phone needs to stay connected properly. Check your software update settings if it's been a while.
Reset network settings
This clears out saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth pairings, and cellular configuration, which can resolve stubborn connectivity issues at the cost of having to reconnect to your networks afterward.
If none of this helps and the SIM card works fine in another phone, the issue is likely with your phone's cellular antenna or modem hardware rather than the network itself.
